If your content isn't quite right for another content type or a profile, it will be a Page. The Page content type will be your go-to for most of the site and, as such, provides many components and ways to customize your content and layout.
See Content Types for instructions on adding, updating, and archiving/deleting nodes.
Page Fields
Enter a title that describes your page.
The title is used as:
The page title that shows up in search results.
The Heading 1 for the page.
A good title will:
be concise
be unique (not share a title with any other page on the site)
clearly indicate what the page is about
Start typing your Drupal editorial group, usually your department, in the text field. A drop-down list will appear. You must select your group from the list.
You can enter more than one editorial group to allow editors from other areas to edit the node.
Image Preparation
Hero images span the top of the page and add visual interest to your page.
A good hero image:
is at least 1600 pixels wide x 526 pixels tall
looks good if it loses a little from the bottom or up to 20% from each side
is under 500KB
Hero images are responsive and will re-crop on the fly. Use preview and focus to make sure any crop includes the primary focus of your image.
See Images for instructions on choosing and preparing your image, setting the focus, and using the Add Media dialog box to add an image.
To Add a Hero Image
Click Hero to see options for Hero Image and Hero Ambient Video.
Click Hero Image to see Add Image and Hero: Caption.
Click Add Image to open the Add Image dialog box.
Add your image.
Enter a caption in Caption to have it appear in smaller type below the page title. Use sparingly.
See Images for instructions on choosing and preparing your image, setting the focus, and using the Add Media dialog box.
Please do not use Hero: Ambient Video or Hero: CTA without discussing it with us. Ambient video is not appropriate in many situations and the CTA is best used sparingly if at all.
Components added in the Components field will span the width of the area next to the left-hand navigation.
We recommend you use components of this size next to the navigation, and full-width components lower on the page to take full advantage of the site.
The stand-alone Image Carousel works like a Carousel: Image Feature component except it doesn't appear where you'd expect it to.
Although this fieldset appears on the edit page under both the Components and Components Below Content fieldsets, any slides added here will display on the published page above the content in those sections.
For finer control of placement and easier maintenance, skip this field and add a Carousel: Image Feature in the normal sections.
Save your page as draft and review the image feature near the top of the page.
To later remove this component, click Remove and then click Confirm Removal.
We recommend you tag your area in Group and the intended audience of the page in Audience. These tags aren't currently used by the system, but may be useful later.
