Rooted in Resilience: Championing Community and Celebrating the Class of 2024

The Grinnell College Class of 2024 is preparing for a milestone event on May 20 — their Commencement celebration. For many students, this marks their first taste of a traditional graduation ceremony, a rite of passage denied to them during the challenges of 2020.

Through the Lens of Time: Grinnell College Commencement

From the graduating class of Edith Renfrow Smith in 1937 to the vibrant ceremonies of today, each year’s Commencement has been a special intersection of achievement, reflection, and aspiration.
Nancy Garcia, a 2024 graduate, is named the Elsie M. Stouffer ’24 Fellow.

Nancy Garcia ’24 Receives Stouffer Fellowship for Graduate Studies

Garcia, a biology major and science, medicine, and society concentrator, plans to pursue a medical degree and master’s in public health. She is committed to train as a primary care physician who is focused on addressing issues related to policy, care, and research for underserved Latine communities in the Los Angeles County area
