A 4-MW solar array just north of campus along 16th Avenue generates an estimated 6.3 million kWh per year, approximately one-third of the campus’s electricity consumption.
Environmental Education Center Solar
A wind turbine produces 25% of the electricity used by the EEC at Grinnell’s Conard Environmental Research Area; the solar array is designed to provide the remaining 75%.
Facilities Management Office Building Solar
The Facilities Management Office Building, located next to the warehouse, receives 18% of its power from the solar array installed in 2014.

Installed in 2018, the FM warehouse solar array provides 70% of the building’s electricity.

A solar array located between GAME House at 1128 East Street and the electric car–charging station provides 100% of the project house’s electricity.

One of the first at the College, the preschool's solar array meets roughly 6% of the building’s electricity needs.
Old Glove Factory Solar
Solar panels on its roof provide 14% of electricity to the Old Glove Factory.
