Mosaic art is created by arranging many small pieces of colored glass, stone or other material in a collage. Our publication celebrates the beautiful collage of a diverse campus and world, with a particular focus on the variety of global adventures that are experienced by Grinnellians.
What is MOSAIC?
It is an annual magazine that celebrates a global Grinnell, with a focus on international students and cross-cultural experience. Since it began in 2008, MOSAIC has brought together unique stories of students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The magazine is put together by the MOSAIC student editor with the Office of International Student Affairs’ (OISA) editorial support.
Topics have included reflection on study abroad opportunities, poetry about one’s home, snippets of Grinnell community cultural programs, International Pre-Orientation Program (IPOP), internship experiences, and more. MOSAIC is a great way to reflect on your school year, and is published late in the spring semester.
The publication receives financial support from the Institute for Global Engagement and OISA. You can access the magazine electronically below, or visit the OISA to view a physical copy. It is distributed on campus and to local Friends of International Students hosts.
Please feel free to email the MOSAIC editor with any inquiries. Learn more about how to contribute via the MOSAIC Submission Guidelines page.
