LaDonna Redmond, an activist who was inspired to fight for a fairer food system due to limited access to fresh, healthy and organic food in her Chicago community, will give the Scholars’ Convocation Lecture at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Joe Rosenfield ’25 Center.

Sebastian Braun, director of American Indian Studies at Iowa State University and a researcher who studies the Bakken oil boom in North Dakota and its impact on native and non-native communities and the environment, will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Heather Swan, an award-winning writer, poet, and beekeeper who teaches writing and environmental literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will present “Honeybees: Threats and Resilience” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Room 2021 of the Noyce Science Center.

The Conard Environmental Research Area (CERA) invites students, families, and friends to visit and explore 8 a.m.–7 p.m. May 19 to May 21, 2018.

Grinnell is accepting applications for summer restoration assistants through March 12, 2018, to help at the Conard Environmental Research Area and at urban prairies in Grinnell.
