Welcome to the Grinnell College family!
We recognize that while your student is preparing for the transition to college, you’re preparing for a significant transition as well.
This website is full of information and tasks that your student will need to complete over the coming months. We encourage you to discuss the information with your student.
You may be experiencing a wide range of emotions as you reflect on what it will be like once your child has started their college experience. Participating in New Student Orientation (NSO) will play an important role in introducing the new student to the Grinnell community and the college experience.
We encourage you to join us on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, for the first day of New Student Orientation. We have a couple of programs for families and guests to attend. Afterward, we encourage you to say your goodbyes as your student begins their Grinnell experience.
Below are additional resources you may find helpful while preparing for your student’s success.
Academic Calendar
Plan ahead! Knowing the dates of upcoming holiday breaks and exam periods is helpful. The Office of the Register publishes five-year calendars each year.
