Letter mail: We place letters in your campus mailbox. All incoming packages are processed into our mail tracking system.

Packages: You will receive an email to let you know when your package has arrived and how to pick it up — either at a locker bank or at the Mail Services package window.

Locker Banks

Locker Banks — Squirrel, Pioneer, and Prairie — are in the first-floor lobby of Mail Services at the Rosenfield Center and available 24-7.

If your package is in a locker bank, you will receive an email that says:

Hi, [box number and your name]

A package has arrived for you and is available for pickup from locker.
[Tracking #]

Please pick up your package from [locker number, Squirrel, Pioneer or Prairie] within 2 days.

At the locker, scan the barcode from your phone. For best results, turn the brightness all the way up and make sure the entire barcode is visible. Hold your phone about 6 inches from the locker's barcode reader, found below the screen.

Alternately, you can use the 6 digit pin code to open the locker — just hit “Enter manually” button on the kiosk and enter [tracking code] on the next screen.

If you are unable to pick up your package within 2 days, it will be returned to the mailroom or sender.

Package Window

Package window pickup times are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If your package is too large to fit into a locker or all lockers are filled, your email will say:

Hello,
A package has arrived for you.
[Tracking #]
[your box # (red or brown)]

Please remember the color, this tells us a location where your package is in the mailroom. You will need to show your student ID card at the window and let us know the color of the package you are picking up.

Please contact Mail Services at mailservices@grinnell.edu or phone 641-269-3421 if you have any questions.
