In 2023, GCMoA and DCL hosted a series of free community programs connecting the museum’s resources with a wide range of individuals, families, and community organizations, strengthening enrichment opportunities and the social fabric in Grinnell.

Experience the captivating journey of Caribbean Indigenous resilience through the bilingual (Spanish/English) traveling Smithsonian exhibition, “Caribbean Indigenous Resistance / Resistencia indígena del Caribe ¡Taíno Vive!” available to the public at the Drake Community Library.

Grinnell is a pass-through town on day 5 of RAGBRAI's 50th year celebratory ride. Grinnell College is excited to extend a warm welcome to RAGBRAI riders, providing a nice spot for shade and relaxation as they journey through our town. Over 30,000 riders will pass through Grinnell on Thursday, July 27 as the last stop before the end of Thursday's ride. Grinnell's beautiful Central Park will be the hub of all activities featuring live music, food, beverages and more. This remarkable ride from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River is marking its 50th anniversary this year!

While the OISA is the primary resource for international students on campus, host families offer an invaluable additional support system for new Grinnellians from around the world. 

This spring, Grinnell College awarded community mini-grants totaling $22,200 to six local initiatives. Since 2002, the mini-grant program has directed over $580,000 to 227 community-driven initiatives.

Grinnell College will stream Wolfgang Amadeus ’s “Don Giovanni” on May 20 as part of the Met‘s 2022–23 Live in HD season.

Grinnell College and The Grinnell Area Arts Council (GAAC) will host amateur astronomer from Grinnell, J.R. Paulson, on Wednesday, May 10 from 6:30-8 p.m. to discuss "Imaging the Universe” in conjunction with the “Observing With NASA” exhibition currently on display at the GAAC.
