Julie Gosselink and Monica Chavez-Silva recognized by the Iowa Women’s Foundation
Julie Gosselink and Monica Chavez-Silva have been selected as honorees in the Iowa Women’s Foundation (IWF) Ovation: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls publication. Ovation is IWF’s signature annual publication featuring women and girls that have been nominated for the honor by family members, colleagues, friends, and community members.
Julie Gosselink is president and CEO of the Claude W. & Dolly Ahrens Foundation and serves on the board of trustees at the College. She also serves on the Ahrens Park Foundation, Build a Better Grinnell Foundation, and LINK board of directors.
“I am humbled and honored to be recognized among other amazing women by the Iowa Women’s Foundation,” says Gosselink. “Being a great leader only happens when you have a great team of people working alongside you every day. I am very fortunate to have passionate and dedicated co-workers and colleagues in helping to support and strengthen the work that we do in our community.”
Monica Chavez-Silva is the vice president for strategic planning and engagement at Grinnell College. She also serves on the board of the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation, on the Advisory Council for the Anchor Institution Taskforce, as a Commissioner for the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service, and on HUD’s Higher-Ed Engagement Think Tank.
“Being recognized by the Iowa Women’s Foundation is an honor,” says Chavez-Silva. “Being recognized alongside Julie Gosselink is remarkable. Since I began this work in Grinnell, Julie has always made herself available as a steadfast partner, advisor, and inspiration. It’s the quiet work of people like Julie who dedicate their passion and creativity every day to ensuring the community will be strong for the next generation. I’m lucky to work, and learn, alongside her.”
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Julie and Monica!
