The Springboard Program is a professional employment opportunity within the Grinnell College Information Technology Services (ITS) department that is specifically for recent graduates.
The Springboard Program Details
A competitive program, it provides up to three years of employment in a cohort-based environment; up to four positions are available most years. In addition to a competitive salary that may increase up to 20% annually, Springboard Program employees will gain professional experience in three different technology fields [1] as well as have the opportunity to attain professional certifications related to each. Employees who progress satisfactorily through three full years will also gain the Grinnell College IT Springboard Certificate.
While the program is open to eligible graduates in any discipline and no prior technology experience is required for those with bachelor’s (or higher) degrees, a demonstrated interest in information technology and professional development is embraced. Applicants with associate degrees must have had information technology as a component of their coursework.
This program provides a fantastic way to gain practical technology experience, professional certification, and experience different professional information technology career paths.

Minimum Qualifications
Education requirements are one of the following:
- bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- associate degree that included information technology coursework
Eligibility for this position is limited to recent graduates of institutions of higher education. (Graduation must be in the same calendar year as the start date of the position.)
Preferred Qualifications
No prior technology experience is required unless candidates do not possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree. A demonstrated interest in information technology and professional development is embraced.
