Jeff Jonkman
Jeff came to Grinnell in 2009, and was previously a faculty member at Mississippi State University and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he taught a variety of statistics courses.
Jeff's primary research is in the area of meta-analysis, which deals with appropriate statistical methods for combining the results of different studies of the same treatment or phenomenon. Other areas of interest include composite sampling, dose-response data in pharmaceutical studies, and Bayesian and empirical Bayes statistical methods. When not doing statistics, Jeff enjoys reading, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, playing golf or tennis, and watching sports on TV. His love of statistics started young, in the form of an early obsession with sports statistics.
