Brenda Strong

Brenda's main areas of responsibility are working on compliance for the Office of International Student Affairs (OISA). She serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for SEVIS compliance, a federal web-based system for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. Brenda maintains the College’s SEVIS records, help students process off-campus employment applications, and serves as a resource for advice about campus policies, procedures, and opportunities.

The best part of Grinnell College for Brenda is the variety of cultural attributes and perspectives that she is exposed to. She adds that “The students teach me so much. It is amazing to work with such bright students from all over the world.”

Brenda grew up in Brooklyn, Iowa – about 20 miles east from Grinnell College. Brenda attended Iowa State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. In her free time, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, attending sporting events and concerts, playing games, and going camping.

The Office of International Student Affairs sits within the Division of Student Affairs, and is co-located with the Institute for Global Engagement on the first floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Center.
