Amanda Pearce
Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Internships
Amanda (she/her) joined the CLS in June 2023 to be the Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Internships. As a team member of the CLS, Amanda seeks to continue to develop and expand internship opportunities for Grinnell students. Amanda will also focus on expanding recruiting partnerships with various organizations and employers.
Amanda earned her master's degree in education and school counseling [lower case] from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA. She previously worked as a school counselor at Grinnell-Newburg High School with students in grades 9–12 on career and academic planning along with social-emotional learning. Amanda also worked in the Grinnell community in the nonprofit sector.
Outside of the office Amanda enjoys working with her husband on their farm outside of town, where they raise black angus cattle and are avid horse enthusiasts. Amanda and her family ride their horses all over Iowa and the Midwest, enjoying the outdoors. When not working on the farm, Amanda enjoys reading, gardening, and lifting weights at the gym. Fun fact: Amanda was a nationally ranked, sponsored athlete in the sport of power lifting until about three years ago. Amanda keeps a lookout for her next adventure or a new hobby to try.
