Martin Minelli
Research Professor Minelli's research deals with the synthesis and characterization of molybdenum compounds. Molybdenum compounds act as catalysts for a number of processes, among them olefin metathesis, and molybdenum is also a cofactor in biological systems. The study of these complexes helps to further the understanding of the role of molybdenum in the catalytic and biological field. Methods involved in this research are Schlenckline synthesis, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, electrochemistry and X-ray crystallography (done off-campus). Minelli Summer Research 2014
