Taylor Mayne, an Iowa native, holds a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from the University of Iowa and an Master of Music in voice performance from Ohio University. He is currently on faculty at Grinnell College as an applied music associate in voice, and Drake University as a teaching artist of voice in musical theater. Mayne studied under the tutelage of Dr. Rachel Joselson, Andrew Ryker and William Lewis.

Mayne has performed on stages around the world in the operatic and musical theater genres. Notable roles include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Alfredo in La Traviata, Ralph Rackstraw in HMS Pinafore, Laurie in Little Women, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Vincent in Mirielle, Matthew Scott in Sondheim on Sondheim, and Lucano in L’Incoronazione di Poppea. Mayne has also been sought after as a soloist performing as the tenor soloist in Bach cantatas with Ohio University, First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City, Grinnell College, the University of Iowa, and singing the role of Tyler in Tyler’s Suite with the DMGC. Mayne is currently performing his recital Two Voices One Diva, a recital focusing on separation of the instrument and gender.
