Hsin-Hui Liu
Hsin-Hui Liu is a passionate performer who enjoys various musical career as a soloist, collaborative pianist, chamber musician, and educator. She has presented solo and collaborative recitals in Austria, Canada, China, Taiwan, and the United States. Liu holds a D.M.A in Piano Performance and Pedagogy (University of Iowa), a M.M. in Piano Performance (University of British Columbia), and a B.M. in Piano Performance (Lynn University). Her major teachers include Dr. Uriel Tsachor, Dr. Sara Buechner, Amanda Chan, Dr. Roberta Rust, and Daxin Zheng. She received full tuition scholarship from the University of Iowa and served as a teaching assistant. She was the recipient of the Eleanor Gray Memorial Scholarship as well as the Faculty of Arts Graduate Award from the University of British Columbia. Miss Liu has won prizes in many competitions, including the gold medal award at the Montecito International Music Festival Competition, winner of the 2012 Lynn Concerto Competition, and winner of the 2012-2013 Ars Flores Concerto Competition. An advocate to the promotion of music by female composers, Liu has presented programs of all-female representation at the College Music Society Central Regional Conference and Grand View University Faculty Colloquium. In 2021-2022, She recorded the complete solo piano works by Austrian female composer, Mathilde Kralik von Meyrswalden which received University of Iowa's Career Impact Award. Liu is actively engaged in premiering living composers' works and has premiered many works featured in the University of Iowa Composer’s Workshops. Liu is currently serving on the faculty of Grinnell College.
