Emily Fenner
Neurodiversity Support Specialist
A native of Grinnell, Emily graduated from Grinnell High School in 2016 and then went on to attend the University of Iowa. She graduated with a B.A. in Ethics and Public Policy and a minor in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies in 2019. After graduating, Emily worked as an AmeriCorps fellow with the Justice Advocacy Project at Iowa Legal Aid before accepting a disaster relief and recovery position at Mid-Iowa Community Action in Grinnell. Emily comes to Disability Resources from her most recent position at MICA as a Family Development Specialist, in which she worked as a case manager for low-income families. She is thrilled to be able to utilize this skillset to support students at Grinnell, and is looking forward to working alongside a diverse and inclusive team. As Neurodiversity Support Specialist, Emily will be working one-on-one with primarily first-year students, to ease their transition into college and to ensure they have the resources to succeed. Emily hopes to offer a safe environment where all students feel welcomed and supported, and encourages anyone to stop by her office for a snack and a chat!
