Jane Bright

Jane Bright is a theoretical astrophysicist. Her research focuses on stellar dynamics around merging supermassive black hole binaries with applications to the Andromeda galaxy (M31) and eccentric disk structures. Her research utilizes N-body computer simulations to model the gravitational interactions between many astrophysical objects. She received bachelor’s degrees in math and physics from Denison University. She was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and earned her master’s degree in astronomy and astrophysics and her certificate in college teaching from the University of Arizona, and will receive her PhD from the University of Arizona in fall 2024. She has a strong interest in teaching and pedagogy and has also mentored undergraduate research .
