Anna Gjoleka
Academic Institutional Research Analyst
Anna first came to Grinnell College as a student in August 2017. After graduating in May 2021 with a bachelor’s in psychology (hons) and anthropology (hons) she completed a master’s in social sciences from the University of Chicago, before returning to Grinnell College as the academic institutional research analyst. As the AIRA, Anna is responsible for providing data in support of forecasting and resource needs of Academic Affairs, building reports for core metrics, federal reporting requirements, and program reviews, developing and maintaining survey guidance and guidelines for use by the campus community, assisting with developing workflow processes that foster departmental continuity, assisting with translating enrollment data for use in institution-wide and external reporting, and developing datasets and summary reports in response to ad-hoc requests from the campus community.
When not working on institutional data, Anna enjoys reading mystery books, listening to music, and going for long walks. Whenever she gets the chance, Anna also enjoys traveling and using her knowledge of multiple languages.
Skills and Interests
- Communicating (both verbal and written) with campus community members to pull the appropriate data in assisting them with making informed decisions.
- Summarizing raw data and organizing it in tables and charts.
- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data from different databases.
- Training campus community members in survey structures and constructing surveys for academic departments and Academic Affairs.
- Finding new ways that data can be used to assist in the growth of the campus community and the improvement of students’ academic experiences.
- Expanding knowledge of data use throughout the campus community.
