Tierney Steelberg

Digital Liberal Arts Specialist

Tierney Steelberg (she/her) supports Grinnellians in their digital endeavors: working with colleagues in the DLAC, she helps students, faculty, and staff with digital projects of all kinds. Get in touch with Tierney if you’d like help exploring a new digital method (such as mapping or digital publishing), if you’re interested in exploring digital assignments or new digital pedagogy approaches, or if you want help setting up a website with Sites @ Grinnell.

Tierney is also a co-lead of the Vivero Digital Fellows program, through which she supports student development in the digital liberal arts by mentoring, training, and supervising Fellows who host peer mentoring drop-in hours and collaborate with faculty and staff on digital projects.

Tierney has a Master’s degree in Information Science from the University of Michigan, and prior to arriving at Grinnell she was the Digital Pedagogy & Scholarship Technologist at Guilford College. She has a background in digital pedagogy (and especially critical digital pedagogy) and experience supporting digital projects across disciplines and modalities, from digital publishing and web creation to digital mapping and audio/video creation.
