Grinnell is proud to welcome Dr. Bernice A. King, to speak at Commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. on May 23 on Central Campus. King is carrying on her father’s mission of nonviolence and positive social change through her work as a global thought leader, orator, peace advocate, and as leader of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (founded by her mother, Coretta Scott King in 1968).

Campus will be closing to the public at 3 p.m. and students are to shelter in their residence halls starting at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 15 due to the potential of dangerous winds. The National Weather Service is predicting that wind gusts may exceed 60 miles an hour in our area beginning in the late afternoon through the overnight hours. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure that all faculty, staff, and students are home and/or in their residence halls before the weather intensifies.
