A large solar array north of the Grinnell College Golf Course is live, providing the College with four megawatts of power — approximately one third of the campus’ total energy needs. It is the largest private solar installation in Iowa.

Jadyn Al-Fatah ’27, who sings bass with the Grinnell Singers, has created an interpretive dance to accompany Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw's “To the Hands.”

Yoo is teaching a three-part series about native plants this spring. In March, the students learned to germinate seeds. In April, they transplanted their seeds into cone-tainers, and next, they will plant their seeds into the middle school prairie.

Professor of Political Science Wayne Moyer has taught at Grinnell College for 5+ decades. In May, the College celebrated Moyer’s career as he retires from full-time teaching.

Brian Goodell ’24 always knew he wanted to go to a smaller school. After visiting lots of campuses, he came to Grinnell, and it just clicked.

Luke Bryson ’25 received an honorable mention for his short story, “The Last 2,500 Miles of Cataract Jack,” in the 2024 annual ACM Nick Adams Short Story Contest for his stories short story.

Highlighting their outstanding academic achievements, more than 40 third and fourth-year students at Grinnell College have been elected to Beta of Iowa, Grinnell’s Phi Beta Kappa Chapter.

Martinez has been named the recipient of the Celina Karp Biniaz Model of Resilience Award from Grinnell College. The award was established to honor Celina’s courageously hopeful life and legacy and bestows a cash prize.

Sophie Noyes ’24 looked forward to a college community. From being theatre’s frequent flyer to their passion for mental health and therapy to studying in Spain, they created one with people they absolutely adore.

The 2024 Bachelor of Arts Exhibition (BAX), which features 61 works in the creative arts by 25 Grinnell College art students, opened on Friday, April 18, in the Grinnell College Museum of Art. The exhibition will be on view through May 20.
