Stephanie Jones, associate professor of education, has received an American Philosophical Society Franklin Grant of $6,000 for her project, “Mapping Racialized Trauma: A Critical Race Spatial Analysis of Counter Cartographic Narratives of Race and Racism in Schools.”

In the course How to Learn Physics (EDU/PHY 115), students identify an intriguing physical phenomenon to explore further. From there, they use everyday reasoning to make conjectures about what could be happening in the phenomenon and to test those conjectures.

What does historical thinking have to offer when we carry the British Library in our back pocket? In this talk, Mr. Wineburg will share highlights of three decades exploring what historical thinking offers to a democratic society.

About 2 dozen tenure-track and term faculty from art history to theatre and dance joined the Grinnell College community in fall 2020. The new faculty members’ varied research and teaching interests present students with even more compelling choices for rounding out their unique curriculum plans for the year.
