Student Awards and Accomplishments

Grinnell College is proud to be named one of the U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2022–23 Fulbright U.S. Students.

Jivyaa Vaidya ’23 is the recipient of this year’s Fischlowitz Travel Fellowship and will use the opportunity to travel the United States and study street art and its impact on communities.

The Watson Fellowship is a $36,000 one-year grant for purposeful, independent exploration outside the United States

Diana Chege ’22, an English major from Nairobi, Kenya, was awarded the Fischlowitz Travel Fellowship for 2021. She plans to visit New York, Washington, D.C., Texas, and California in August to explore the experience of Black women in the United States.

Avery Barnett ’21, a physics major with concentrations in technology studies and environmental studies from Kington, Jamaica, was recently awarded a presentation award at the 2020 Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) — National Diversity in STEM Conference.
