President Anne F. Harris has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Presidents and Chancellors Advisory Group, where she will represent the Midwest Conference. Her term of service on the committee began immediately and will continue through January 2025. 

Grinnell College will honor Edith Renfrow Smith, Class of 1937, one of the College’s most accomplished and beloved alumni, by naming the Civic Engagement Quad (CEQ) Core Building in her honor.  

Grinnell College President Anne F. Harris will serve on the Capital Crossroads Advisory Council leading the development of the 2040 regional vision plan. The Advisory Council represents a diverse array of organizations to ensure people of different backgrounds and interests have an opportunity to inform the future direction of Central Iowa.

Harris - I write today to share the sad news of the passing on Saturday of one of our College’s most remarkable members: President Emeritus and Professor Emeritus George Drake ’56. For the great many Grinnellians who knew George Drake, this news will bring great sadness.
