Working with Women Farmers: What Have We Learned?

Dr. Ranjitha Puskur will present the annual World Food Prize Lecture, "Working with Women Farmers: What Have We Learned?" at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13,in Joe Rosenfield '25 Center, Room 101.
Puskur is leading the gender research program at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Puskur has been part of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) since 2002, working at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) where she led the research team working on ‘Innovation in livestock systems’ and, WorldFish where she led the gender research program. Her work focuses on generating knowledge, learning, and evidence that can translate into technical and institutional innovation and lead to more equitable outcomes for women in agriculture.
The World Food Prize is the foremost international award recognizing — without regard to race, religion, nationality, or political beliefs — the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity, or availability of food in the world.
