Art & Architecture Archive 1895–2015. Full-text archive of over 65 international magazines, presented as searchable full-color page images, that cover fine art, art history, photography, decorative arts, interior design, graphic and industrial design, architecture, and more. The college owns perpetual access to Collection

Art & Architecture Source Covers a broad range of subjects, from fine, decorative, and commercial art to various areas of architecture and architectural design. International in scope covering English-language journals, books, and more, as well as works published in French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Dutch. The database also has an extensive collection of images.

ARTbibliographies Modern Online bibliographical database providing full abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary arts dating from the late 19th century onwards.

Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection  Alternate Name(s)Arte Publico Online database pertaining to Hispanic history, literature, political commentary, and culture in the United States. Content is drawn from Arte Público Press's Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Project, an effort to locate, preserve, and disseminate Latino-Hispanic culture of the United States in its written form, from colonial times to 1960.

BHA and RILA from the Getty 1975–2007. The Getty, a cultural and philanthropic institution based in Los Angeles, hosts this searchable database combining the Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA) and the Répertoire International de la Littérature de l'Art (RILA), providing citations for articles from over 1,200 journals covering American and European visual arts. RILA covers 1975–1989 while BHA covers 1990–2007.

Frick Collection Art History Research Databases Art history databases maintained by the Frick Collection in New York City. Includes The Archives Directory for the History of Collecting in America, The Frick Digital Image Archive, The Montias Database of 17th Century Dutch Art Inventories, and Spanish Artists from the Fourth to the Twentieth Century: A Critical Dictionary.

MuseumsEtc Collection  A collection of electronic books on museum-related topics from Exact Editions.

Oxford Art Online Online art encyclopedia, covering all aspects of visual culture. Includes the Grove Dictionary of Art. Contains articles, bibliographies, learning resources, and searchable images made available through Oxford’s partnerships with museums, galleries, and other arts organizations.

Oxford Bibliographies Online - Classics  A repository of up-to-date bibliographical articles written and reviewed by top scholars in the field of Classics, including citations, annotations, and commentary on a wide variety of topics. The Oxford Bibliographies database is designed to help researchers cut through academic information overload by providing expert recommendations.

Perseus Digital Library  Digital library of resources for the study of the humanities, with particular emphasis on the Greco-Roman world, that seeks to present its material so as to illustrate the connections between disciplines, events, ideas, and concepts.

Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG)
Full-text digital library containing most of the surviving Greek texts from Homer (8th century BCE) to the fall of Byzantium in 1453 CE. Create a user account to access the various content areas.

ABI/INFORM Peer-reviewed journals in business and management, business-focused newspapers, trade publications, industry reports, and other documents for the study of business.

EconLit  1969–present. Provides citations for journals, books, dissertations, and working papers on economics from hundreds of sources. NOTE: Many of the articles in EconLit are working papers from the RePEc database. "Search for full text" will NOT take you to the full text of these working papers. Look for the links in the EconLit records to the full text of the working papers.

SSRN eLibrary Database of nearly 450,000 working papers from the Social Sciences Research Network. Primarily covering economics and law, with some political science and other subjects. Being working papers, this research may not necessarily have been peer reviewed.

Literature Online (LION)  Fully searchable library of more than 350,000 works of English and American poetry, drama, and prose, with nearly 400 full-text literature journals and other key criticism and reference resources.

MLA International Bibliography  1926–present. Online database indexing scholarship on literature, language, linguistics, and folklore.

New Oxford Shakespeare  This online resource brings together three interconnected reference works to present a new consideration of the writings of William Shakespeare, edited from first principles from the base texts themselves and drawing on the latest textual and theatrical scholarship: the Modern Critical Edition, which features modern spelling and punctuation along with helpful supplementary materials; the two-volume Critical Reference Edition, which preserves the original spelling, punctuation, ambiguities, and inconsistencies for the advanced scholar; and the Authorship Companion, a collection of cross-referenced essays on issues of attribution and collaboration.

Oxford English Dictionary (online) Contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition, first published in 1989, together with its 3-volume Additions Series, published in 1993 (volumes 1 and 2) and 1997 (volume 3).

Online resource that provides full-text information from nearly 4,000 United States and international newspapers, news services, magazines, blogs, transcripts, and more. To get to the international newspapers, use the "World" link under Shortcuts.

ARTFL Collection of primary source texts from France including Diderot's Encyclopédie. Founded in 1982 as a collaboration between the French government and the University of Chicago, the ARTFL Project contains more than 3,500 French-language texts from the 12th through 20th centuries.

ArticleFirst 1990–present. Multidisciplinary index of articles listed on the table of contents pages of over 15,000 academic journals.

European Library Designed to meet the needs of the research community worldwide, this online portal offers quick and easy access to the collections of the 48 National Libraries of Europe and leading European Research Libraries. Users can cross-search and reuse over 28,000,000 digital items and 175,000,000 bibliographic records. To facilitate further research, links are also provided to other websites in the Europeana group.

Grove Music Online Online resource for music research, featuring the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, The Grove Dictionary of American Music, and The Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments, as well as numerous subsequent updates and emendations. A version is also available in print at Burling reference.

Jazz Music Library Streaming audio repository for jazz music, broadly defined. Genres include bebop, acid jazz, big band music, and range from folk to reggae to gospel to bossa nova and many more. Searchable by performer, composer, genre, and song or album title. New content is added on a regular basis.

Naxos Music Library Streaming music service primarily for the genres of classical music, contemporary jazz, and world/folk, with New Age, pop/rock, and Chinese orchestral music represented as well.

Naxos Music Library: World Streaming service featuring a wide range of World music, representing over 1,500 cultural groups. Includes the Smithsonian Folkways Recordings catalogue.

Oxford Music Online Gateway to music research and access point for full-text Oxford music reference publications, including Grove Music Online, The Oxford Companion to Music, and The Oxford Dictionary of Music.

RILM: Abstracts of Music Literature 1967–present. Comprehensive database to scholarly literature on music. National Theatre Collection In collaboration with the National Theatre of Great Britain, this collection features streaming video of stage productions as well as archival materials and documents.

North American Indian Drama, Second Edition  An online database of nearly 250 plays, more than half of which are previously unpublished, by American Indian and First Nation playwrights of the 20th and 21st centuries. The plays demonstrate Native theater's diversity of tribal traditions and approaches to drama—melding conventional dramatic form with ancient storytelling and ritual performance elements, experimenting with traditional ideas of time and narrative, or challenging Western dramatic structure.
