Grinnell College Welcomes Deborah Dodge as New Ombudsperson
Deborah Dodge will join Grinnell College as the new ombudsperson beginning on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024. Deborah brings a wealth of experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and fostering inclusive environments, having served in various roles in higher education, most recently as the university ombudsperson at Central Michigan University. She holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University and has earned the Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioner (CO-OP®) credential through the International Ombuds Association.

In her role at Grinnell, Deborah will serve as a confidential, impartial resource for faculty, staff, and students, helping to resolve conflicts and navigate challenges related to campus life. The Ombuds office provides resources for all members of our community to address their concerns and work toward solutions, in line with the ethical principles of confidentiality, informality, impartiality, and independence.

Deborah’s collaborative approach focuses on empowering individuals to navigate conflicts with confidence and clarity. Her expertise in fostering inclusive, respectful environments will help reinforce community ties and ensure that all voices are heard and respected as Grinnell continues to build a supportive and open campus culture.
