Class of 2017 Pursues Fellowships and Awards

The Center for Careers, Life, and Service is excited for the 42 members of the Class of 2017 who have recently applied for prestigious fellowships and awards:
- 22 have applied for the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, which provides $30,000 for a year of independent, purposeful exploration and international travel
- 14 have applied for Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Grants to 9 different countries
- 3 have applied for Fulbright Study/Research Grants to 3 different countries
- 1 has applied for the Marshall Scholarship, for 2 years of study in the United Kingdom
- 1 has applied for the Rhodes Scholarship, for 2–3 years of study at Oxford University
- 1 has applied for the Schwarzman Scholarship, for 1 year of study at Tsinghua University in Beijing
Applicants have worked closely with Steve Gump, director of global fellowships and awards. Decisions will be announced between November and April.
