This prestigious award enables faculty from institutions not classified as "Doctoral Universities: Very High Research Activity” or “Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity" to work alongside leading scientists at DOE-funded national labs during the summer.

Associate Professor of Physics Charlotte Christensen was recently awarded a grant of $66,000 from the Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA).
The funding will support an archaeological excavation in southwestern Wyoming, focusing on the historical Rock Springs Chinatown.
The project, titled "Fundamental Studies of the Influence of Ligands on the Molecular Structure of Noble Metal Nanoclusters," will explore the electronic and molecular structures of these small but impactful materials. The grant is funded through the DOE Office of Science (Office of Basic Energy Sciences) as part of the DOE’s Funding for Accelerated, Inclusive Research (FAIR) program.
