2022 winners’ projects work to build awareness of support for Asian victims of sexual assault, address social isolation in long-term care, and reduce food waste in the dining hall.

The Wilson Center for Innovation and Leadership sponsored ten Brazilian students to attend this year’s BRASA Summit, a two-day annual conference that gathers Brazilian college students studying outside their country and influential leaders to discuss some of the country’s main issues and to debate solutions.

From Sept. 25 to 27, the Donald and Winifred Wilson Center for Innovation and Leadership hosted their annual Pioneer Weekend competition, adapted to an online format for this year’s competition.

The winner of the 2020 SPARK Challenge, Sharene Gould Dulabaum ’22, centered her project around the major problem of excess waste on campus. After observing that many students failed to properly sort their trash into compost, landfill, and recycling, Dulabaum proposed a new system of centralized waste bins that would standardize and streamline the process of sorting waste, potentially saving the College thousands of dollars.

In the fall of 2019, the Wilson Center for Innovation and Leadership sponsored five students to attend the annual Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) conference.
