The inaugural exhibition of the Grinnell College Museum of Art will open on Friday, Aug. 23, featuring selections from its diverse collection of works spanning the centuries and the globe.

The Faulconer Gallery is changing its name to the Grinnell College Museum of Art because of its growing collection, national and international exhibitions, and extensive programs.

The 2019 Bachelor of Arts Exhibition (BAX), which features works in the creative arts by 23 students, will open with a reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in the Faulconer Gallery.

"Hometown Teams," a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition that explores how sports shape America, will open in Grinnell on Friday, Feb. 15.

Emily Stamey ’01 curated a traveling exhibition that brings together the work of 21 contemporary artists who use familiar fairy tales to examine the staggering complexities of contemporary life.

John Garrison, associate professor of English, will read from his newly released book, “Shakespeare and the Afterlife” at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in Faulconer Gallery.

The Faulconer Gallery will display works ranging from the surreal to hyper-real June 29 to Sept. 15, 2018.

An exhibition of selected works donated to Grinnell College’s Faulconer Gallery since July 2017 will open on Friday, May 18, 2018.
