The Grinnell College Libraries are here to help you with your research. If there are books that we don't own that you think we should add to the collection, you may request that the Libraries purchase an item by logging into Primo and clicking on an item that isn’t owned by Grinnell. You’ll see a “Purchase Request” link on the page for that item. You may also interlibrary loan materials that you need.
In addition to providing access to materials, the Libraries can:
- Facilitate open access to your research, in accordance with Grinnell College’s open access resolution.
- Help you negotiate publishing contracts so that you can retain more rights over your published research.
- Help you write data management plans.
If there's anything the Libraries could do to help advance your research, please contact your consulting librarian.
Authorizing Your Assistants
The Libraries allow you to designate people to conduct library business, such as checking out books, picking up ILL material, or placing items on reserve for courses. You might choose to authorize your Academic Support Assistant or your student research assistant, for example. Please see the page on Authorized Students and Staff for more information.
